STATES saying NO to NATIONAL HEALTHCARE!

Dominique 1. I love the spirit of Americans and their ability to come up with creative solutions! This solution being put forth by Arizona is a wonderful example of American determination and her ability to overcome any odds. According to the Tenth Amendment Center,
Right on the heels of a successful state-by-state nullification of the 2005 Real ID act, the State of Arizona is out in the forefront of a growing resistance to proposed federal health care legislation.
This past Monday, the Arizona State Senate voted 18-11 to concur with the House and approve the Health Care Freedom Act (HCR2014). This will put a proposal on the 2010 ballot which would constitutionally override any law, rule or regulation that requires individuals or employers to participate in any particular health care system.
HCR2014, if approved by voters next year, also would prohibit any fine or penalty on anyone or any company for deciding to purchase health care directly. Doctors and health care providers would remain free to accept those funds and provide those services.
Finally, it would overrule anything that prohibits the sale of private health insurance in Arizona.
Five other states — Indiana, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Dakota and Wyoming — are considering similar initiatives for their 2010 ballots.
In my opinion, this is how America should be going about the business of finding solutions to all massive changes being thrust upon us by a government that is out of control. I think this is a great idea and I congratulate these states for drawing a line in the sand and taking a strong stand for the people.
The one thing that States need to do (and many are doing) is to keep a close eye on our government officials. While they are showing us what they have in their left hand, they are engaged in the shadows with what they are holding in their right hand. A perfect example of this is the Real ID Act. Again according to the Tenth Amendment Center,
While some constitutional experts are skeptical of the effect that such legislation could have, supporters can point to the successful campaign to oppose the Real ID Act.
In early 2007, Maine and then Utah passed resolutions refusing to implement the federal Real ID act on grounds that the law was unconstitutional. Well-over a dozen more states followed suit in passing legislation opposing Real ID.
Instead of attempting to force the law to implementation, the federal government delayed implementation not once, but twice, and additional states got on board with legally-binding legislation refusing Real ID implementation.
Earlier this month, the Obama administration, recognizing the insurmountable task of enforcing a law in the face of such broad resistance, announced that it was looking to “repeal and replace” the controversial law.
Photo Credit: rubberducks.orgSounds great, right? President Obama is listening to the will of the people - woo hoo! Not so fast. According to the CATO@Liberty,
Enhanced driver’s licenses are a project at the Department of Homeland Security - with no congressional mandate - to move state driver’s licenses toward serving as national ID cards.
So it is with the “PASS Act,” a bill that would revive REAL ID under a different name.
Senator Daniel Akaka (D-HI), formerly an opponent of having a national ID, has been working with the National Governors Association to round down the sharpest corners of REAL ID and give the national ID law a new name.
A news report says the new bill “explicitly prevents the creation of a national identification card.” It might also prevent things that walk like ducks, quack like ducks, and swim like ducks from being called “ducks.”
The only way to resolve the problems with REAL ID is to repeal REAL ID. Reviving the national ID program under another name is not a solution.
America is in a battle for her very life. We the people and the States must stay engaged and involved if we intend to be victorious. We must use any and all tools at our disposal to keep socialism, collectivism, progressivism, or any other "ism" at bay. The National Nullification Act is a great start. Now to stop the passing of any type of national ID!
Remaining Steadfast,

This certainly is great news. Arizona has the right idea, let's hope that this movement gains momentum in more and more states. We need to fight back against this administration and their over-reaching.
Mr. Pink Eyes - We are on the same page on this one. I have a feeling we will most definitely see this spread throughout the "red" states and then from there into some of the blue states.
It must be hard trying to usher in socialism when the States are saying hell no! LOl
I hope more states enact legislation such as this. If the federal government will not look out for the interests of the people and the individual states, then we will have to do it ourselves.
What it all boils down to is this. The Obama administration and the Democratic Congress is looking to expand the role of the federal government in any way they can. This sort of legislation puts a damper on that, so look for them to fight it in any way they can.
Larry - I agree. Did you read the article at American Thinker about Obama being an "African Colonialist?" If you haven't, you should. But does it put him into perspective. Here is the url if you haven't. Let me know what you think.

I am going to have to check that link out myself.
Mr. Pink Eyes - :-) Let me know what you think.
Wow! That was a very interesting article, but it was also scary in regards to the parallels between what Obama is doing here compared to what Britian did to Nigeria. People better start paying attention!
Mr. Pink Eyes - Wait till you read the article about healthcare I am going to be posting in the next day or two! Scary doesn't even cut it anymore. I am so frustrated and angry at our elected officials (not all of them but most) for their ignorance and duplicity!
